Governor Cuomo has committed to secure 50% of New York's electricity from clean energy by 2030 (50 by 30). On Long Island, that means the current clean energy supply must increase 17-fold. No other project gets Long Island closer, faster to the 50 by 30 mandate.

Combat Climate Change

By including projects hundreds of miles apart, this portfolio frees Long Island from relying on a single region’s weather for its clean power supply, helping to fight climate change more effectively.

The project’s footprint on Long Island will consist of a "net-zero" converter station on a  3.5-acre parcel of land, preserving Long Island’s open space.
